How to sign Which?: BSL Sign of the Day 89

Learn how to sign Which? in BSL. The sign for ‘which?’ is a side-to-side movement but can change location depending on where you place the options. The first example sentence shows a simple placement of two options, the sign for ‘which?’ used to ask which you prefer, either tea or coffee. The second example sentence establishes a list of options on the non-dominant hand (known as enumeration or listing). The sign for ‘which?’ then sweeps across the established location of the options.

The example sentences in English are: ‘Do you prefer tea or coffee? I prefer coffee.’ and ‘I’ve got red wine, white wine and beer. Which drink do you want?’.
