How to sign Should: BSL Sign of the Day 29

The topic for week 4 is modal verbs.

Modal verbs (sometimes known as “helping verbs”) help express attitude or perspective towards the main verb in a sentence. In this week’s Sign of the Day, we’ll show you two examples everyday but the second example is the same sentence with only the modal verb changed. This will help you to understand the function of modal verbs.

Use the lip pattern “SHHH” and nod your head as you sign. You can add intensity through your facial expressions; the more serious your facial expression, the more strongly you believe in the phrase.
